FRAUD/SCAM ALERT : PAYING SOMEONE TO GET A VISA APPOINTMENT IN INDIA

I understand that many visa "agents" are doing it now taking advantage of the Indian mindset where we believe them more than official government websites. I was in India for almost 29 years, so I know how everything works there.

If you are an NJIT student, do NOT do it. It's high time for us to be with each other, not to scam our fellow college mates.

I heard from at least 6 people that they were offered guaranteed visa appointments for anywhere between Rs 9,000 and Rs 20,000.

Here is the deal:
They will take the login information from you. They got an idea on the pattern of the availability of appointment slots, i.e., the time when the website gets updated. They will just login to the website using your login details and create an appointment. There is no other magic!

Don't believe me? Offer them 1 million dollars but tell them that you can't provide your login details (and ensure that you already have an account with your passport number).

Let me assure you something. There is no need to contact anyone for a visa appointment. It's not India where you can do a "jugaad" for everything. There is no way to bypass the system. Your visa appointment needs to be created on the government's website and there is NO way to bypass the system. When you pay someone, they will only use your login details to login from their computer and follow the exact same process which you would have done yourself. You can call it a "service", and if you want to take the service, sure, go ahead! But it's not a "magic" or something of that sort.
