Review: Prof. Hung Daochuan
CS630 - Operating System Design
Summary:
Prof. Daochuan has a lot of experience in his field but he cannot explain the subject to his students well. He tends to rush through tough topics and students are often left clueless after his lectures are over.Things to remember:
- He has an accent which students find tough to comprehend
- The examples he gives during his lectures are extremely vague and are of no value
- Homework assigned are not reviewed and hence it becomes tough to decipher whether the answers submitted are correct or not
- If you take his classes, be prepared to study the entire subject on your own
- While most other professors are happy with a single mid-term and a final exam, he conducts two mod-term exams
Grades:
He assigns weekly homework and classwork too, but never returns those after grading. Hence students do not get to know the grades they get apart from the two midterm examinations.
