Review: Prof. Hung Daochuan
CS341 - Foundations of Computer Science II
Summary:
Prof. Daochuan may know a lot but cannot teach well. Students mostly end up studying from their TA instead of attending his classes. He tends to read out directly from the PDFs he brings to class and if he forgot to bring it someday, he never even covers that part the next day.Things to remember:
- Except for giving the exams and attending the exam review classes, students rarely attend his lectures as it is a waste of time.
- He is mostly late for class and sometimes he doesn’t even show up.
- The professor doesn’t have any motivation to teach and so students need to self teach themselves or learn from their TA
- Assignments never allow students to be creative as he doesn’t assign any questions where they have to build a program from the ground up. Rather students have to edit the code he has already written.
He grades students horribly and tries to make everyone who skipped his class, fail. Also, he lets students know their grades weeks after the exam.
